If you can live off of the $40 FO pay for the rest of the next decade, then go for it. Other wise, find a carrier like Commutair that you can make over $60 an hour in the next few months and get the TPIC.
They just extended their 145's through 2018 with intent to extend them through the end of 2019 and SkyWest is talking about fleet replacement for XJT in the Q3 earning I believe this month.
With the United CPP, upgrade time is probably going to drop drastically with 25% of all United new hires are required to come from ERJ side of XJT, and I believe the first wave of United new hires from XJT are heading over in November. Also I am pretty sure they didn't hire between 07'/08' and 2011 and are about to have an upgrade class with an 07' and 11' hire in the same class, so that drops the upgrade overnight by 3.5/4 years. I wouldn't be surprised for XJT to have one of the lowest upgrade times come begging of 2017.
