You may get some different opinion as to what is the best part of bidding hardlines, but I would have to say it's vacation drop. In a nutshell, if you can bid a line that has a four day trip come in on the first day of your vacation, and then that line also has a four day trip that starts on the end of your vacation, you'll have both trips dropped (and pay protected) and extend your vacation by that much time. Also, any trips that operate during your vacation period are dropped and pay protected as well. There are some other nuances, and caveats, to this system, but that's the general gist of it.
