Like some of the people here are saying, do what's best for you. I know a guy who was at Envoy for 3 and a half years. He came over to SkyWest. Lateral move. He's now extremely close to upgrade, and he is compensated better, and a line holder where at Envoy that wasn't working out for him. That was a smart move back then, but each person's story and timing is different. There is a lot of risk and luck and a little bit of smarts involved in this business. Depending on what you're chasing, do what works best for you for that goal.

EDIT: I know of a few other guys who made lateral moves to SkyWest as well from other carriers. One from Republic, and even one from Expressjet.

At the same time I've heard of a guy making a lateral move from SkyWest to Envoy. Everyone has their reasons. We can give you advice and info, but at the end of the day it's up to you what you want to do with your life.
