I couldn't give 2 sh1ts what the company thinks they're trying to do.
I have ZERO concern that our NC, MEC/LEC will continue to fight for industry leading pay, work rules, insurance, PS, etc etc and this increase in pay proposal will not decrease their resolve to get that leading CBA and as quickly as possible.
Do you really think somehow if we agree to this 8% pay increase that somehow that's going to delay our CBA or result in a lower overall end product?

Ok for those of you new to negotiations. It's not about our MEC's resolve, it's about playing to the NMB. We will at some point be filing for mediation and our negotiations will be under the auspices of a mediator. As typical when the mediator tries to schedule meetings the company will all of a sudden have "conflicts" and won't be able for meet for months on end. After a few rounds of this the mediator will get annoyed and the company will use "we gave them a raise when we weren't required too" so we aren't the bad guys. The mediator will fall for it and thus this will delay a CBA at least 6 months.
