As well they should be. Pilot salaries are dramatically low in almost every sector. In Alaska, given the amount of risk, the ridiculously long days (14 hours of hard. work. are very common throughout the summer), the visceral, physical nature of the work, the exposure to toxic chemicals, the high cost of living... the average salary should be at least 1.6-2.5 times what it is, after training.
