My very first day on property I talked to the CP in person about getting some time off for my wedding, 5+ months in the future. Said it would be "no problem!" Two months went by and I still hadn't gotten it in writing, so I sent an email to the ACP. He said fill out a PTO form for records, but it shouldn't be a problem...and it wasn't. Got 5 company PTO days (which sat nicely over 5 RSV days) and with some creative swapping of RSV days I had 14 days off before, during, and after my wedding.
There might have been other ways for this guy to go about things, but terminating somebody because they called off FOR THEIR FREAKING WEDDING? YGBSM. Hell, management might have even done him a favor there...
dont think it is pinnacle, i haven't seen or heard anything about this, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen here... you are right, he will get his job back and management will pay...
