Personally, I like the out time to reflect the actual out time. Changing it, as you point out only covers up the problem. On the other hand, causing a delay screws no one but the gate agent who may have actually done their job.
On the other, other hand, I had an FO take it upon himself to start amending the out because he wanted to be "friends" with the agent.
Anyway, actual out for me.
If the goal is to befriend the gate agents then let's keep adjusting our actual out times to benefit them and Euro/B and keep taking one for the team.
But if we are ever going to get a TA that reflects our worth before 2020 then guys around here are going to have to sack up. Who controls the parking brake? We could make management take notice and come to the table in just weeks if we could collectively stop cutting off our noses in spite of our face.
It's not personal to the gate agents. I have no ill will towards them. But what are our priorities? Our families or the gate agents?
I appreciate that you get the big picture. I wish more did.
