Guess which base (hint hint 4 month upgrade to MD-88 captain) has the most commuters that would benefit greatly from a VB without messing with the rest of the system?
80kts - surely you can agree that the Company is proposing nothing that helps commuters in any significant way? This entire contract cycle is 100% focused on squeezing productivity out of the pilot group: more flying done with less pilots, right? In other words: less jobs, more stagnation than would otherwise be the case (yes, we'll still be hiring, just not quite as many, so you'll be blind to it).
It's disingenuous to put quality-of-life-enhancing words in Managements mouths - they are not trying to enhance the life of a commuter pilot; they are strictly focussed on bludgeoning every iota of productivity possible, damn the cost.
This is the Productivity Contract. And we are still subsidizing our own gains.
