Accepting the temptation of the 8% proves we are weak and we all will continue to roll over. The NMB will always favor the company. They can't be held responsible for being a part of a strike and stranded angry US travelers/voters. Congress and the lobby won't allow that. Wake up! When we roll over on the 8% our CBA is a wrap. We're toast. And we will accept the first TA that rolls out.
When this 8% passes I will ask to be referred to as "The Great and Wise P-3Bubbadamus"
Whether we take the 8% or not it will be used against us. The company is always a few steps ahead of the union because the railway act is woefully one sided. Yes the NMB always favors the company and I never said there will be a strike. What I know from experience is that if you have a personal strike fund you are much less willing to accept a crap TA. A month or two of salary isn't too much to ask. Maybe when we get bogged down by the money chapters we do as DALPA and threaten to help the FA's organize.
