As I think about this even further I am PO'd for two reasons:
1. My MEC takes my dues money. They take yours too, but they take mine. If the MEC wants to come out with a public policy opinion they need to check with me first.
2. My MEC should be spending it's time, energy, and money doing things that enhance, and not detract from pilot unity. This bone-headed move just makes us argue within the pilot group about the MEC's actions. It's a dis-unifying event. That in turn reduces pilot solidarity, and that in turn makes us weaker as a bargaining unit. This decision by the MEC makes my union weaker. Shame on my MEC for wasting our dues money and making it harder to negotiate against management and enforce the contract our our LOA's.
