At legacy airlines I think those guys were able to get the ear of management and really convince them it's in their long term interest to put resources into the department.
If we, as line pilots, don't think we need better training then I guess there won't be any changes. I think focusing efforts on improving our training department is a worthy goal.

My guess is he's saying R.E. is the only one that gives a damn about safety. All the other management types talk about safety being a priority...but it's only talk. Most are not willing to back up that talk with action.

If so, I'd actually have to agree with this one.
