If they wait that long it will be to late. They are already struggling to fill classes and keep up with attrition. United has not really been hiring for the last 5 months and now they are ramping back up so you can expect twice as many pilots leaving per month next year.
If true then now is the time to be sweetening the pot. Unlike CS its time to be proactive not reactionary for the time that we are all here which hopefully is relatively short.
