One, applicants are drying up fast. Delta is on their tier two applicants right now. So anyone with an average application will get a call eventually. Straight from a buddy at delta says they plan on hiring 1500 next year and 1600 the following. That's just Delta, American and UAL I heard are similar numbers.

Two, yes we might start hiring guys that might not be able to get other jobs, but how many can you hire before the pilot group starts getting ****ed, maybe starts calling in sick when they see certain people on their pairings. I'm not saying this will get us a TA im just saying it helps this place become even more desirable to work.

Three, we are not asking for industry leading and taking I think a very reasonable approach to these negotiations. The mediator I hope isn't a complete idiot will see through the Companies BS.

Attrition might not of been that high or what we thought it was, but it's picking up. I know of two leaving. SW and Delta.

So if they want to drag it out then fine, add more fuel to the fire. At a certain point you can't put it out. And like I said previously and you cared to point out " apply elsewhere" believe me I am!
