Breast cancer awareness month is about money, plain and simple. Just about every company out there from airlines to the NFL to food companies is in on the action. If they weren't making money promoting it, it would not be happening. Cancer charities also benefiting is just a byproduct.

Breast cancer is about the 36th leading cause of death accounting for less than 1% of deaths. I think a much better cause to support would be heart disease, but that doesn't tug at the same heart strings as breast cancer.
