Very similar to switching July and August to 30 days although much less of an impact. The July/August deal was an instant 3.3% productivity increase across all fleets. Raising an 84 hour max ALV to 85 is at worst a 1/85 or about a 1.17% productivity improvement on certain fleets.

Not a big deal by itself, and only on certain fleets but if you add this 1.17% to the 3.3% increase of the 30 day months we now have about a 4.5% productivity increase on these WB airframes.

Of course to see the big picture we would also need to add in the stuff we received that lowered our productivity - there were a bunch of items in C2012, and some in this current TA such as increasing training day, vacation etc. So its not all doom and gloom but by itself the ALV widening does increase our productivity.

Not sure if I agree with you or not. To my simple way of thinking, if the TLV is not allowed to increase, how will that allow more productivity and hence fewer jobs? Seems to me pilots will fly the same number of hours before or after this ALV change based on the same TLV. What am I missing?
