Near the University of Michigan was an intersection named BOSCM after the football coach, Bo Schembechler. Then he took over the Tigers and fired the radio broadcaster. Intersection was renamed HARWL (as in Ernie).
EARVN is near Michigan State - SPRTN ("Spartan") is familiar to those who fly into Detroit from the west.
