PSA pilots make more during training than they do when they hit the line. (75 hours a month during training plus 24 hour per diem for the entire time that they are in training)

Also, reserve times matter. If you get a line within 1 year, you can potentially make more money as a line holder than on reserve.

There are lots of factors.
