Good God, I hate that response. Yes, X may be the LIMITATION for a tailwind, that does not make it safe or smart to take it up to that limit. I hear that sh*t all the time on the line. Sure, on a sunny, clear day with 12000 feet of runway... fine. In LGA, at night, in heavy rain.... ******* no.

What in the world makes you think that is solely a crosswind? Even more reason not to do it, a tailwind and a crosswind.
