i wouldn't say it's hard to say at all.
these new TA rates for 1st year pay are marginally higher (a few dollars) than UA, which won't really be when the snap up happens, but UA pays 90 hours a month while in training, covers hotels, and uniforms. so when this TA passes and we pay our new hires in training $4,600 and make them pay for uniforms and hotels, united today pays theirs $7,110 and covers hotels and uniforms; $5 more than American which also covers hotels. So with 'total compensation' we are dead last among the big 3 by a large margin for new hires.
