Well, it is a factor, at least in my case, and here is why. I have been out of aviation for a few years, just staying minimally current/reinstating currency. I have about 20 hours in a crj sim when I did flight training way back when, so it would be a familiar cockpit and make the transition back to aviation a little more easy. Obviously, the training can get anyone to learn any aircraft, but the familiarity would be nice.
Going to the CRJ at Envoy means you'd have a high likelihood of doing initial training on another aircraft in the not too distant future, so if your concern is getting through sims, try not to put yourself through sims twice.
As to the specifics of Envoy vs SkyWest, I'll defer to the peanut gallery, but there is something to be said for having a flow in your back pocket and good travel benefits.
