nearly all of my close friends are non-pilots who fly a lot for business. i've never heard one, not one, give a rats ars about whether their pilots had hats. but i have, actually, literally, had them ask me why their pilots had to divert to get gas, why their pilot made long, annoying announcements, why the cabin was so warm and muggy, and why they got the sheet kicked out of em in the weather.
i repeat. no frequent, high revenue passengers care at all about your stupid hat
