I hope we can avoid street captains. I've enjoyed sitting right seat longer in order to learn stuff they don't teach in training. There are many folks here who spent 6 years right seat before upgrading and know the planes and operation inside out. 10 years ago the uograde times were very high, and after 2 years at colgan I couldn't even consider upgrading. Times have changed, and we could very well hire good street captains. However, I think sitting right seat for a year is a good thing everyone should have to do.

That's a wise move on your part to learn as much as you can before upgrading. Do you think that six months would be enough to prepare a new hire with prior 121 jet time for an upgrade at Piedmont? Are people busting in upgrade?
