There's way too much supposition going on here about schedules as a newhire. Envoy is all over the place as far as the amount of new pilots coming on board. Yes, things have improved, but fluctuations are absolutely still possible. It also depends on what plans management has as far as which equipment gets the new bodies and which bases they go to. Sure, a newbie could wind up a lineholder in pretty short order, but they could also wind up stuck near the bottom on reserve as management prioritizes other equipment and bases. Also, PO/PVD/drops are still very difficult to get. I think I've only got two this year and I put in for a lot that were all denied. Trading is great as a lineholder, but forget trying to swap reserve days.

Life as a new pilot at a regional is difficult and often frustrating when it comes to scheduling. And yes, I've heard many people having hard times getting days off for important events, though that partly may be because sometimes they couldn't schedule the events themselves or far enough in advance.

The best advice is to get in the CPO right away with your request(s) as far in advance as possible. They should work with you as far as the wedding goes.
