I don't think that's what he was saying at all. He wants the job. He is willing to drop the $1,000 (aka 50% of a monthly paycheck for some, aka 200% of their entire savings for some, aka a not-so-small sacrifice to some), but only if there is some actual benefit to doing so.

And that's a fair question. Does attending the event improve your chances of getting the interview, or accelerate the date you will eventually get it, and by how much?

We all assume that it will. We all assume that it does in a meaningful way. But nobody knows exactly how much.


Does attending BOTH days make any difference?

I can't see how it would. It might. But, again, nobody who knows is willing to say.
