Thanks to everyone for giving me some good words of wisdom and some more things to think about. Ultimately I've decided to go. I found a pretty good deal but will only be on the ground a little over 24 hours.
For another data point my availability is summer '17. I'm hoping that most of us who got Day 1 invites have later availability dates and that's the reason for most to be in the Day 1 pool vs Day 2. Did anyone get a Day 1 invite with an availability date soon? Perhaps before March '17?
My buddy has had his application open since March 2015 and has attended OBAP and WIA and has multiple internal recs. Only thing I can think of is that he doesn't have enough multi-engine PIC time because most of his time is in the U-28.
