Yes things can change and go down hill too, but we aren't the only company that gets effected when $h!t hits the fan. LCC's are the way of the future and are going to continue to crush it in the industry. But wait, show me the money, always greener on the other side. Livin' the dream... work, work, work.
Let's stay strong and get the kick a$$ contract we deserve and make this the place we expected it to be when we got hired.
This company has also navigated some pretty dark days. Really, those dark days started at its inception. 1999-2002 wasn't the best time to be a fledgling start-up in JFK. After 2002, the people that propelled this company were all fragments of legacy's mismanagement, glued together to succeed and endure through today. This company is good at success, and adapting strategy to find any dollar, nickel or dime to survive. I agree that it's the people that made this happen. I like the people that work here. I like that we can put our heads down and get what needs to be done accomplished.
Now, we need to be compensated appropriately. Cumbya can continue and it should. But, cumbya will be attached to proper compensation. This is where it gets murky. I believe that management has taken this pilot groups cumbya for granted. They also believe (maybe know) that as a whole (Union) we are weak. They will squeeze us for more cumbya and below industry average compensation. I want to believe the NC is ready for this, but by confidence is low.
