Be careful. If you leave I wish you well, but you'll be starting over again. We all know this. It sucks. It makes no sense. But everyday you wait it's another # down the legacy list you slip. A 5% furlough at Delta, AA or UAL (that's never happened before) is a LARGE # of pilots. That's what scares me. I'm staying at jblue. Because I hope and believe we will succeed.

The legacy carriers are hiring for retirements more than anything. JetBlue hiring is predicated on growth and some attrition.
For example, in 2017 AA retires 462 pilots, 357 this year, and 561 in 2018 as well. Many of the other legacy carriers have similar number. These carriers could just not hire and that would be a substantial decrease in head count. Anything can happen obviously but the industry hasn't seen retirement numbers like this in a long time.
