If you (Whackmaster and Rizzo) were on probation for one year and they decided to keep you I would say SW was MORE than fair with you. If it were my decision, I would root out negative attitudes...they tend to not improve over time, only get worse. If you haven't gotten over this issue at this point, you never will. This thread is called "2017 Hiring Numbers" not "I feel I was Treated Poorly in 2011 and Can't Get Over It." Feel free to start that thread.

The truth is, nobody is forcing you to work at Southwest Airlines. You were free to say "No Thanks" after the merger and go find employment elsewhere. Heck, you are still free to leave. Guess what, you can upgrade in less than a year at Delta.

If you worked at an auto manufacturing plant that made a business decision to produce a certain line of cars at a different plant, it would likely result in layoffs of a significant portion of, if not the entire work force at that particular plant. It sucks, I know. That's the world we live in. Things aren't always fair and we can't see the future.

I would love the opportunity to fly for Southwest Airlines, and my guess is most people coming to read this thread would too. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as harsh, however I feel that you are wasting everyone's time. You aren't going to change anyone's mind. You clearly aren't ever going to make yourself feel better either. Did your career go just the way you wanted it to? No. Most people's don't. However, you are working for a great company with a solid balance sheet...and that strong balance sheet is not propped up by a past bankruptcy that expunged significant debt and/or liabilities.

If it is truly so horrible for you to work for Southwest Airlines, you really do need to leave. Life is too short to be miserable all the time and you deserve to be happy. I wish you the best and hope that someday you find something that fulfills you.
