It's because we are useful idiots. We hear things like "death tax" and "paying their fair share", and it enrages us. We confuse the concept of giving extremely wealthy people the bulk of a tax cut plan, with taxing them into submission. Somehow we overlook the fact that we are just tax donkeys, working people who pay up to 39.6% taxes on a portion of our salary, plus Medicare and Obamacare taxes, while many far wealthier pay far less, and will get a much greater tax break.

This plan is not a flat tax, or a fair tax, that uncomplicates the massive loopholes in the tax code. Billionaires like Trump will still be able to pay next to nothing, and keep their carried interest deals, paying far less than us. And we'll get excited over a big tax cut, where the workers pay for the owners. Are we really thrilled that our CEO's will pay far less of a percentage in taxes than we will? Why? Is he going to hire more pilots because his personal tax rate goes down?
