If you dovetail the above info with recent events/info it could become interesting for us. The company has said that they intend to open an -11 domicile in HKG in the future and many seem to think it will be primarily MD-10's over there. In that case we'd have to consider that not only are we losing one DC-10 from we have now during conversion, some of those a/c could be headed overseas meaning less domestic pilot positions(in addition to the 3 man to 2 man thing). The post didn't mention anymore -11's so I assume that no more are in the works officially at this point. The Busses are growth birds in that fleet for sure, but according to some of the mechanics we are short on Bus lift as it is CDG even with the 57's coming so it's not a sure bet that all 12 of those a/c will be US based either. Having FDA's to capture these positions is a great thing, but we could be in for a bit of food fight over a dwindling number of US positions. Probably not a big deal if we weren't overmanned already before even considering Age 65, bit that isn't the case.
