Frankly, I don't know why the Company is so adamant about not modifying the AK code share agreement. I'm thinking it may be a moot point within the next year. If canceling the DL/AK code share becomes a requirement, my money's says AK will do it in a heartbeat and DL management then has absolutely nothing to say about it.

My one question would be how the DOT requiring ending the AK codeshare could impact Horizon and how our contract ties into using Horizon. Would Horizons new jets be available to Delta? I don't know the overall international feed numbers from AK. Many times a international route hinges on the ability to put the last 12 passengers onboard. Management may be concerned that if they lose that feed they lose some international routes. I suspect we do not have the gates to replace the feed at the present time. Perhaps they are preserving that section to allow the use of Horizon. I have however not read that section of our contract so have no idea on legalities.
