You need facetime at the job fairs however, MD-80's will be the exception not the rule in new hire classes from here on out. I would expect a few more in Jan/Feb and maybe one more class before summer and that's probably going to be the show.
Your DC-9 type rating will help if you meet the right people. Have you tried emailing our flight ops recruiter? She may be able to help push you along.
Know this though, being junior on the MD-80 will be a miserable existence over the next 18-24 months while we transition. You will have lots of reserve and probably be relegated to LAS or SFB depending on which base has -80's last. I recently was told SFB looks like it will be last now.
