Rap(reserve availability period)- is a window you are assigned for reserve. I forget the times, but say 4am to 6pm, or 10 am to 12am, or ready reserve(kind of crap) you come into work to sit at the airport, and you're not paid for the whole time, alpa likes it that way.
I agree, reserve sucks. But it's not entirely fair to say we don't get paid for reserve... we do get paid, 75 hours. I also agree, though, that there is little incentive for folks to do airport standby, as in they don't pay extra. But it's no different than the fact that some guys fly on reserve and others sit home all month -- both are gonna get the 75 hours.
