Elaine Chao, former Labor secretary and heritage foundation fellow is going to become the next Transportation Secretary. From reading some of the Heritage Foundation publications, it looks like they want to dissolve the TSA, oppose the Airport Improvement taxes, and are pro ATC privatization.
It also appears the Heritage Foundation considers the Deny NAI movement as anti-competition. What are your thoughts on how this move affects two of our most important movements (ME3 and NAI)?
She is senate majority leader Mitch McConnells wife. Was Labor secretary under W Bush. She was present when airlines gutted pensions. She has been criticized by both parties for not adequately investigating over 70,000 labor complaints against employers. She sided with port owners against teamsters in LA and forced them back to work.
She is pro business and anti labor. That decade was a lost decade for most of us and in general not a very good time for labor. But then again her boss is actively trying to break a union in Vegas so at least it's consistent.
Not exactly draining the swamp.
Strap in boys. It's going to be a long four years.
