For #1-- The test are basically a couple of hours in a padded room. Not sure what is on the source you asked about since I am not familiar with it. I remember laughing during the vocab part since not only did I not know what the word meant but sometimes didn't know what the answers meant either. I felt like my head was going to explode when I was done with the testing.

#2-- I didn't go to Albie since my inteview was pretty short notice. I have heard only good things from guys who did. They said it was very good and helpful. I am good friends with his business partner so I may have some bias.

#3-- French, Mandarin, Cantonese????-- who knows? For your sake I hope not. New hire pay at those locales would be brutal the first year. We will know more in a couple of months probably but I would not be surprised at all.

As for the interview, relax as best you can. I know this is easier said than done. My best advice is two words-- Sim Prep. The sim is the only thing you really control. Best money I ever spent. As we all know, an interview in this business can seem to hinge on whether you click with the interviewers. At every airline, we all can name great people that didn't get hired and knuckle heads that did. Seems to be no rhyme or reason sometimes.

Hope we start hiring again soon and it all works out for you.

This advice is spot on....especially the part about sim prep.

Use AJ, his gouge and prep advice for the DC-10 sim was perfect.

When I went thru HR said they interview 100 folks to get 70 in training.....of the 30 who don't make it, 15 don't because they bust the sim and the other 15 don't make it thru some part of the day 2 interview process.

From my anectodal data from talking with friends, I'd say the overall hire rate is even higher then the 70% HR advertised ONCE you get called for the interview.

The long wait for the meet-n-greet call and the interview call were the hardest part.

Good luck to all....hope we have the need to start hiring again soon.
