You do realize that no matter what aircraft you get hired into you can take the upgrade on any aircraft as soon as your seniority allows it and you meet the minimums. Get hired into the 175 and upgrade on the CRJ no problem, or vice versa.

Another thing to keep in mind that these two year upgrades you read about are only happening back east. All of the bases Denver and west take years longer.
