US carriers can fly there. DL said they lost money for 2 years before cancelling Dubai. The ME3 are rearranging how the world's air traffic flows. National game plan. UAL was the last to throw in the ME towel when JBlue's "code share" partner under bid them on a govt contract ( I believe by 1/3rd). No airline has a 1/3 profit margin so uhh, figure it out. They are dumping capacity into the worlds markets at a staggering rate and the US/EU are helping them. They are turning a blind eye to massive subsidies and providing Ex-Im financing to boot. Open skies shouldn't mean a foreign govt can come to the US and take my job. Much less that my govt should help them do it. OFG
