Personally I don't think the MD would be a bad first aircraft type at Allegiant. It would make you appreciate the Airbus sooooo much more later on....

Actually, I have a friend who flies the MD at Delta and he likes it and the lack of complete automation. Eventually all airliners will be fully automated... I guess it comes down to personal preference.
