Those have been around for years but they have so many issues with them that it's cheaper to actually have a person taking orders. That's why they haven't been rolled out in mass.
Plus, the demand to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $15.00 is about a 105% wage increase which they won't get. Minimum wage should rise but realistically putting it at $9.50 and then having it raise with the cost of inflation would be a good compromise.
Finally: Not sure where you live but most ads I see for McDonalds don't pay minimum wage anyways.
