"Short" flow-through. Size. Potential growth. Little to no reserve. Quick upgrade. Pay. Open time pay. Benefits. Everything I had read had been positive recently. "Long" history. Paid CTP. No training contract. It's not Mesa or GoJet.
Didn't care about equipment or bases. I'll fly what they give me and move where I'm needed. I was told all new hires are going 145. They said that if there's a special case where a Dash class can be put through earlier, we can put you on it. I said I'll do it. I'll take the seniority number.
I'd actually really like the opportunity to fly the Dash.
I took more of a laid back approach to the decision. It seems some guys on here go into so much detail about things that it gave me a headache. This career changes so quickly that I figured I'd take a look at a few things that were important to me and go from there. So far, I'm happy with the decision.
In the cafeteria, about 20 PSA applicants got up when they were called. Only 4 PDT guys. I wonder what they know that I don't. I have a couple of buddies there. Haven't heard great things.
Edit: The recruiter also said there was a pretty important difference in the legality behind PDT's flow-through and PSA's flow-through. As if theirs could be wiped out without much opposition. Dunno. Haven't looked into it. I'm just focusing on these three initial at-home tests.
Welcome aboard, i honestly think you made a great choice. I will say this, 2 years ago when i interviewed, they were spot on. Yes they get you excited about the company, but everything was true.
Psa... shiny jet syndrome.. they do have bases where some people live.
The dash has been a blast to fly. I am going to miss her greatly. Nothing like flaps 35 and and landing a 40,000 lbs aircraft in a 1000 ft. Pdt, can you make short approach, hell yeah we can, both people up front, huge smile...
Most flights use about 1000 to 1500 lbs of fuel, remarkable.
