Pardon my ignorance, but I didn't know you could do initial certificate training under Part 142. I would think you would be looked down upon if you did most of your initial time building to 200 hours in sims. Flying the sim is very different from operating an aircraft in the real world. Sure the handling and visuals are close, but there is a lot more to the job. That's why we have IOE at 121 operations.

Now if you meant to say Part 141 flight schools, then I completely agree with Rickair.
