Kirby is at UAL because he wants the top job and knows it will be a long time before Parker retires. Munoz won't be the CEO long and he has no airline background so Kirby will have a free hand. If he turns UAL around he will be the CEO when Munoz retires. Kirby tried to make a play to move up at AA and ticked some people off so Parker forced him out. That is why he is leaving. He was Parker's right hand man when they put the WOs together and his main area of responsibility was regional lift. If he and Parker disagreed over that or anything else he would have been gone long ago. This is all about too many bulls in the pasture.
