Because she couldn't accept the fact that her gift receipt was good for store credit only, not cash.

The difficulty of a customer service oriented job depends largely on the policies of the company. Lately my company has been having lots of problems with the return policy. In general we require a receipt for everything. The worst problems come from people wh try to make a warranty exchange without a receipt (it's only a 1 year warranty, plus other loss prevention issues) so they throw hissy fits. If you were concerned about the product breaking, you should have kept the damn receipt.

I used to work at Nordstrom's and we didnt have a policy, you could bring back shoes you bought 3 years ago that you wore everyday and we would give you cash back, the problem was jerky kids who needed money to go buy beer on a friday night would bring old dirty sh*t that they used to wear and want to return it for cash, sooooooooooooooo annoying, especially the moms, they were the worst they had nothing better to do then drive to the mall in their Mercedes CL600's and return a 20 T-Shirt for their sons who were too lazy to come to the mall themselves, argggggggggggggggggg gotta love Jersey women who dont work and blow all of their husbands money
