If Atlas needs to add 700, and will attrite 250+...isn't this the best news in years for new hires? I would think the understaffed force would bring up actual line values, and reduce the number of R1 days at the end of a trip?

In our interview session: Classes for 747 and 767 available for the first half of 2017; second half of 2017 will be all 767 (no chance of whale classes). Also estimated 3 to 5 year upgrades to Captain in the 747 (I remember this distinctly as I thought "In just 3 years, I probably wouldn't want to be the CA flying into some of those airports!")

So I think mgt fully anticipates the coming problem of expansion and attrition of experience. How they can push thru that much training, that's going to be difficult. If they sign a leading or even industry matching contract - the attrition problem is probably cut in half.

It looks like pool times are reaching 4 months; so I am still hopeful to be in the front of the wave for upgrades - getting interviewed before March is going to make a large difference.

I drank zero cups of kool-aide in the interview room.
