BDSOB

EK requires a 3 year bond that is pro-ratable on a monthly basis. It is typically $36,000. The time starts at end of training.

Do you guys know if the FOs or SOs at these carriers (CX, EK, EVA, KAL, etc.) are type rated (at the company's expense) when they're hired? or do they get an SIC type?
(sorry if it's a stupid question, I have no clue.)
EK gives you an SIC type on a UAE license. It's a paperwork exercise to convert it to an SIC type on your FAA certificate. The PIC license is more difficult to convert over.
