So I start a course soon. The double occupancy hotels kind of took me by surprise before I applied. So, what if you're paired with someone who snores or gets up to pee 5 times a night? How have people managed?
Also, seems like there are some uniform choices, hat, leather jacket...not wanting to stand out, what's the norm?
I paid for single-occupancy in training. It was $750 for indoc and systems (3.5 weeks.) Not sure what it is now...
As for uniform, a few words of wisdom:
1) Please do not wear the hat. Especially, God forbid, as an FO. At SKW it pretty much marks you as an instant tool.
2) Leather jacket is pricey but absolutely worth it for winter flying. The uniform blazer is fine for spring/fall months but absolutely inadequate for, say, ORD in wintertime. There's supposedly a long trenchcoat available but I have never seen a single pilot wearing it.
There's really not a lot of uniform 'choices' per se...
