Most students quit flying the aircraft low to the ground. I use to demonstrate to students how to maneuver while in the level off. Level the airplane off in ground effect and show the student how to fix drifting off center line. Show them how you can fly down the runway in ground effect and then do a good around. Stress landing in the touchdown zone. If the the student is not going to touch down the in the first third of the runway repeat the go around until they master the judgement of making good decisions. You as an instructor must be comfortable doing this. This assumes you try this teaching method with a suitable runway with out obstacles at the the end of the runway.
