If a guy at DL or UA who lives in base doesn't want to fly he just puts in to get short call, or sits long call at home. How do you not understand this?
And if your buddy at DL came to AA he would have had to sit months and months of short call before he could even hold long call.
I don't see the big picture? Wow, what do you think the 'fix' is to not converting LC to SC? Fewer LC bids and more SC bids. What about the commuters? You only commented on the guys who live in base. What about the guys who don't live in base? You screw over more and more of the junior guys that currently can sit LC at home. Fewer LC bids means they're forced to get a crash pad and sit SC reserve in base.
And you completely left out that LC guys at the other carriers get involuntary assigned SC. To provide coverage DL has to convert more LC to SC than AA does. Maybe that's why some seats go so junior at DL vs AA, it's the inability to bid LC on reserve.
