The Tampa Bay Times are absolutely correct. Allegiant continually gives them bad stuff to report on and they do their job by reporting it. I am immensely grateful their reporter is doing such a thorough job pointing out Allegiant Air's maintenance deficiencies because they are numerous and they are often serious. Equally disturbing is how the Allegiant management had repeatedly denied the problems or tried to deflect blame away from the company.

Finally, after years of potentially dangerous problems and many many news articles, after denying that Allegiant even had a problem and trying to deflect blame onto the pilots and their union, Allegiant management seems to have relented and are trying to improve our maintenance program. It's long overdue and the coming improvement can definitely be credited to all the negative press Allegiant received over the past few years.

This airline was headed down a dangerous path of serious mx deficiencies including numerous engine failures and loss of pressurization events. The TBT finally was able to compare the failures to other airlines and found out that our serious incident rate was more than 4x higher than any other airline in the country. That is terrible record and there's no sugar coating it.

That is why I am grateful to that TBT reporter. He may have saved lives by reporting just how bad Allegiant maintenance really was. He may have saved our jobs as well.
I have plenty of 121 PIC time, buddy. And 135 PIC time. Or are you so delusional as you think that Allegiant is "the only airline" to do the sh1t that it pulls regarding maintenance?! I also have friends here that have been here almost since day 1, so another false assumption on your part about what I know. Your insinuations and accusations are inaccurate and unnecessarily cruel. Maybe you're a liberal and that's your nature is to demonize anyone with a differing opinion to your own or more than likely you're just an a $$ho le. Probably the latter. Besides. I don't know how you fly, but when I fly we are a crew and we are both intimately involved in maintenance issues, and if you are an FO and you are not then that's foolish and not wise, IMHO. But, what do I know, right?

I already commented that I missed all of that drama. I do not dispute any of that which happened. I also agree that this reporter may have done some good, but he is now refusing to see anything changing, which is what I dispute. I also do not agree with the Captain getting fired for evacuating and hope he wins a law suit. He most certainly should, and the Company... ALL companies... can learn a lesson from it. All I'm saying is that from what I see... whether it was forced or not, we have changed and for the better. Pick at the scab all you want. Make it bleed, and re-open your wounds all over again as much as you want. But things ARE better than they were. At least from my perspective. And your personal insults about me will not change the fact that what I see is legitimate operations from professionals all around. Mistakes? Sure. But I see them commuting on other airlines too. So what? It isn't perfect. It's way better today than it was 2 years ago. See it and enjoy that fact - Get over it and move on. Or are you so angry with things in the past that you refuse to help make things better now, and can only scorn the company and anyone who wants it to prosper? Perhaps you are just so comfortable in your misery that you don't want the Company to change for the better so that you can just dog it continually and anyone working for it, as you have been, for 6 years on this board.
