We should never be comparing ourselves to anyone other than airline pilots. So we earn in the top 5% -- we absolutely deserve it. How many doctors do you know that rationalize their pay like that? How about Wall Street analysts who are thinking of asking for a raise: "You know, I make $800,000/year. My colleagues across the street at Goldman out-earn me by 20% but most Americans make $65K so I'll just grin and bear it." GMAFB, they get what they negotiate and what the market will bear. They don't have a moment's remorse. No equivocation, they get as much as they can.

We should have the same mindset.
